Ten practices are required before the first meet or scrimmage. Each athlete is permitted to participate in 16 contests exclusive of the Section Championship, the State Qualifier, and the State Meet. Each athlete must have competed in 6 sanctioned school meets representing his school to be eligible for the Sectional and State Meets. The Conference Meets determine a Conference Champion and Runner-up team. The Class County A & B meets determine Class Champions and Runner-up teams. The State Qualifier meet is open only and determines individuals and relays teams that qualify to compete in the State Meet. The Section VIII Crossover meets are the first three meets of the season - no medals are awarded. Each team will have three crossover meets at SCCC in December and first week in January. (All dates not available at this time-will be faxed to all schools when they become available.)

NO FURTHER REVISIONS. ADDS OR DROPS WILL BE HANDLED AT TIME OF OVERVIEW
PRESENTATION. WE DO NOT REVISE THE CONFERENCE MAKEUP UNLESS TWO OR MORE TEAMS
DROP IN THAT CONFERENCE. IN PAST,
SCHOOLS HAVE ADDED OR DROPPED AFTER THE START OF THE SEASON – SOMETIMES SCHOOLS
THAT DROPPED NOTIFIED NO ONE UNTIL THEY WERE BILLED! REMINDER: SCHOOLS THAT DO
NOT FIELD A TEAM ARE LIMITED TO THREE INDIVIDUALS WHO CAN COMPETE DURING THE
ENTIRE SEASON – NOT THREE AT A TIME. THESE ATHLETES COMPETE IN THEIR ENROLLMENT
GROUP. CAN WIN MEDALS BUT DO NOT SCORE TEAM POINTS, AND THEY CAN QUALIFY FOR
THE SECTION/STATE MEET PROVIDED THEY MEET THE SAME QUALIFICATION CRITERIA AS
