Note to all Coaches:
Selection committee rejected some
performers who are well below the level of competition for this meet and a
particular event. They also added extra athletes in events that are too
close to call, or if that particular event is normally a huge
"scratch" event. Usually the 600, 1600/1500, and the 300 fall
into this category.
Clerking is designed to protect the
seeded athletes and aid in the qualification to the state meet of our best
athletes. Clerking is done as each event is clerked in. Semi-final/final
events will be maintained unless impossible to accomplish. In the shot,
long jump and triple jump, we will advance at least four athletes to the final.
More could be advanced depending on the closeness of competition and the number
of athletes who have met the state standard in that event. The high
jump follows NF rules.
Important reminders: All athletes
must have a legal number, uniform, and no jewelry. Only a coach can
scratch an athlete, but it must be before the event is
clerked. Athletes with event conflicts must notify the officials in
those events and follow the section 8 routine-NF rules. All events are
run as close to the State Meet format as possible. Relays teams must meet
special uniform rules.
All state meet qualifiers must pickup a
permission slip, code of conduct and any other information sheets we give out
after each event is completed. All information will also be on our
website. Also, every athlete entered in the meet must pickup a Section
VIII Certificate of participation.
Congratulations to all qualifiers to
the meet. Best wishes for a season or personal best.
