Ten practices are required before the first meet or scrimmage.  Each athlete is permitted to participate in 16* contests exclusive of the Section Championship, the State Qualifier, and the State Meet.  Each athlete must have competed in 6 sanctioned school meets representing his school to be eligible for the Sectional and State Meets. The Conference Meets determine a Conference Champion and Runner-up team. The Class County A  & B meets determine Class Champions and Runner-up teams.  The State Qualifier meet is open only and determines individuals and relays teams that qualify to compete in the State Meet.  The Section VIII  Crossover  meets are the first three meets of the season -  no medals are awarded.   Each team will have three crossover meets at SCCC in December and first week in January. (All dates not available at this time- they will be faxed to all schools when they become available.)

Next a Conference Championship meet at Farmingdale State with two conferences on each date, boys and girls are separate nights.  Conference format subject to dates available-time allotments.  Then we will have a Class A, and Class B, Boys and Girls Championship meet at SCCC followed by a State Qualifier Meet at SCCC.

The State Championship will be on Saturday  March 3rd at Barton Hall, Cornell University.  Girls meet at 8:45 AM, Boys at 1:00 PM.
